THIS COMPETITION HAS CLOSED.
In the passageway that runs between Victoria Wharf and the Table Bay Hotel lies a real gem and one of the finest swimwear brands the V&A has to offer.
Vilebrequin was created in St-Tropez in 1971, and has since established itself over the past 44 years as the purveyor of top quality swimwear for men and women, worn internationally by the likes of royalty, actors and sportsmen.
The first Vilebrequin swim trunks were born from the imagination of Fred Prysquel, a journalist and classic car enthusiast, who fashioned stylish swimwear from spinnaker canvas. Quick-drying and durable, Vilebrequin swim trunks – bursting with bright colours and whimsical prints – soon became the essence of a carefree lifestyle relished by those holidaying along the Mediterranean in the early 70s such as Brigitte Bardot, Alain Delon, Roger Vadim and many more.
Today, Vilebrequin is the quintessential resort wear brand catering for men, women and children; as well as boasting an extensive range of beach accessories including canvas bags, towels and caps. We love all their beautiful pieces but we love nothing more than the swim trunks for kids because not only are they adorable but held next to a pair for dads, they are the sweetest things you’ll ever see.
So, in light of this and an impending Summer (impending because it sure is taking its sweet time), Vilebrequin has ever so kindly given us not one but four pairs of swim trunks (valued at R1450 each) for two year olds to give away for our first blog competition! Tugging at the heart strings of moms the Western Cape over, imagining their tiny toddlers running around in precious little swim trunks.
