Events at the V&A

We wish we could tell you the exact number of events that happen on the property every month because we’re sure the number is astounding but it would require a great deal of research and at least a full day of Mathematics to work it out. One day a store has a season launch, the next day a band performs on the amphitheatre, the day after that Shimmy has a MASSIVE party, then an art gallery has an exhibition opening and someone gets married at The Lookout, the list goes on and on. Every Saturday the Oranjezicht City Farm Market in Granger Bay is an event in itself and then we have huge productions like the World Triathlon Series (this weekend, FYI) and the Volvo Ocean Race and there is New Years Eve on the most extreme end of the scale. Basically, what we’re trying to say is that there are a lot. Everyone knows about the bigger events and the right people know about events like the High School Band Slam (Fridays in April) and those sorts of focused music events but then there are smaller music events that not everyone knows about and more of you certainly should. Why? The entertainment is world class, the location is incredibly unique AND the effort is all in aid of a great cause.

OneSight and Ray-Ban have hosted three OneSight Acoustics sessions on the Croquet Lawn (outside The Springbok Experience Rugby Museum) and their fourth and final event is coming up on the 30th of April. All proceeds from the events go OneSight: a global public nonprofit organization which provides sustainable access to quality vision care and eye wear to those who cannot afford it or do not have access to it. Over the past 27 years, OneSight has engaged thousands of skilled volunteers to hand-deliver the gift of sight to almost 9 million people in 40 countries. It is nothing short of incredible.

The final event will be featuring Goodluck, Crazy White Boy, The Kiffness, DJ Invizable and Roxy so it is going to be epic.

For more event info, see the Facebook event page here. Or go straight to the ticket purchasing portal here. Still unsure? Please enjoy some pics from the last event below.

We hope to see you on the 30th!
