Winter is weird. There, we said it. Everyone was thinking it, but we said it. On the one hand, you get to snuggle up at home with your partner, cat or a really good book in front of a crackling fireplace or that old oil heater your parents insisted you take with you when you moved out of the house in 1998. Maybe you’ve just uncorked a hearty bottle of red wine or a hot chocolate while you wait for your favourite dinner to be ready. Bliss right? Not always. What about all of that FOMO you’ll be suffering from when everyone tells you about the awesome stuff they’ve been getting up to at The V&A Waterfront while you’ve let a cold front give you that winter funk.
Well snap out of it because there’s nothing better to beat the winter blues with than to head out for a great meal with friends and family. Ok maybe there’s one thing better: heading out for a great meal AND an entertaining show with friends and family. And because we love you, we’ve got three suggestions of awesome dinner and entertainment options for you to try out over the next few weeks.

Cape Town Comedy Club:
Laughter is undoubtedly the best medicine. Even if it’s just to help tickle away those winter blues forming cobwebs around your funny bone. From the 27th to the 31st of July, The Cape Town Comedy Club is hosting some of the best Afrikaans funny men for the Afrikaanse Fees. Try out some of their winter specials like the Veggie Breyani or the Butter Chicken. But be warned, side-splitting laughter and a mouth full of food, don’t always go hand in hand.
