Willoughby & Co.

On the 25th of March, for the first time in the history of the V&A, there wasn’t a queue at Willoughby & Co. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is because they were closed. Luckily for us, and you, they only close on one day of the year (ever!) but for the rest of the year, well, queues. But what makes the place so unbelievably popular? They aren’t even on Social Media, guys!

The sushi. Unrivalled. According to 99% of Capetonians, that is. You can’t please everyone and in the case of Willoughby & Co, the minority can’t be more than 1%. We often hear comments like “I don’t even care that they are inside a shopping centre, the sushi is THAT good!” We’re willing to bet that, if you’re reading this, you’ve made that statement at least once. So we’re going to use this opportunity to point out that it is actually quite offensive. Victoria Wharf is a beautiful place from which to nibble on your perfect sushi. And what’s more… Willoughbys doesn’t get affected by weather so that’s rather advantageous for you!

Anyway, at the end of last year, Willoughby & Co. had a little makeover so here are some great shots of the renovation.

Throwback to that time we ordered 4372 plates of food at Willoughbys.
